Pastoral Care of the Sick and Suffering: Comforting, instructing and assisting the infirm so that they may trust in God who is always present in suffering

The inspiring motive in this ministry is the profound solidarity Jesus experienced and encouraged in the face of every human suffering, “with his invincible patience, sweetness, suffering and gentleness” (St. Magdalene of Canossa). In serving the sick, both at home or in the various institutions, the aim is to lead them to experience God’s goodness, to a greater fidelity to Him should they recover and towards a total abandonment to His love at the time of death expressed in three qualifying actions in our service to the sick: “to comfort, instruct and assist”.

The communities in Tondo, Manila; Silang, Cavite, San Jose City in Nueva Ecija, Cagayan de Oro City  and Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea serve in this ministry.

Comforting, instructing and assisting the infirm so that they may trust in God who is always present even in suffering.

We are called to spread the message of love of the Gospel, to offer the love of Jesus Crucified to all those we minister to, bringing them life-giving hope that leads to resurrection.
