New Canonically set-up Community in the Diocese of Gumaca (Quezon)

It was on May 8, 2015, the feast of the Institute, that a regular community was canonically set-up in the Diocese of Gumaca and the first community leader, Sr. Nancy Tagle, was installed. The Mass was celebrated by the Diocesan administrator, Rev. Msgr. Jose Lagdameo and con-celebrated by the  priests of the Diocese. Canossian Sisters from the different communities led by Sr. Glecy Manuyag, Provincial leader, came to rejoice and celebrate this grace-filled and significant event.

The three pioneering Sisters are missioned by the Diocese to assist in the area of Evangelization through the ministries of Youth, Family and Life, and for the care of the Diocesan Pastoral Formation Center. The day had been a joyful and momentous event for the Province and for the local Church.

New Provincial Team Installed

The Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes on February 11, 2015  gathered the Sisters from different communities of the Province for the celebration of the installation of the new Provincial Team in the persons of Sr. Gliceria Manuyag as Provincial Leader, Sr. Lilia Nuesca as Provincial Vicar, Sr.  Lina Amante and Sr. Amelia Manlusoc as Councillors.  The rite of installation was held in Paco in the Chapel where M. General’s Decree of Nomination of these Sisters was read. Sr. Glecy prayed the Credo and the Sisters pledged their prayers and support. This was followed by the Eucharistic Celebration led by Fr. Reynaldo Daguitera, Delegate Superior of the Canossian Fathers.  He emphasized our being created in the image and likeness of God as inspiration for those called to servant leadership as well as for those being served. He also recommend to trust the mercy and help of Our Lady as we heed Her instructions at the wedding of Cana, “Do whatever he tells you.”  The Sisters rejoiced for the gift of persons of the new Provincial Team and for their availability to serve the Province in the next three years.  Guided by their leadership, we will “write together another page of our Institute’s history maintaining a positive outlook, willing to accept the possible difficulties while maintaining the joy of the Gospel” (letter of M.  Annamaria Babbini, Congregational Leader, Feb 2, 2015).

Congratulations and best wishes, dear Sisters.
