VISION
Authentic Witnesses of Christ Crucified and Risen,  with a passion for JPIC continually nurtured and lived  in local and global realities.

MISSION
We, members of the Provincial Commission on JPIC commit ourselves to:

  1. Personal and communitarian prayer, formation and  a lifestyle based on the principles of JPIC
  2. A growing awareness of JPIC issues
  3. On-going discernment for an appropriate response to issues, according to our charism
  4. Collaboration with other groups for effective networking and mutual support
  5. Education for the empowerment of  the socio-economically poor

What is CVP?

A group of young volunteers who share the Canossian Charism to the needy people. They are Canossian Missionaries into the Heart of Christ, with about 15 years track record of  service. The CVP began in 1991 as a response to the charismatic “prophetic” expression of  St. Magdalene’s words: ”Charity is an ever spreading and an all embracing fire.”

Recruitment and Screening
Recruitments are open to different areas: parish, campus/school-based or through CVP animators. The latter initially screen the applicants and later on dialogues with the CVP Screening Team. Tentative assignments are initially given to the volunteers. Final assignments and Missioning take place after the Training-Formation.

FORMATIONS
There are regular faith sharings and gatherings of volunteers during the year and intensive formation during Summer. This is to keep the Fire of Charity constantly enkindled, meeting new challenges along the way. Mission Ad Gentes are also encouraged among CVP volunteers, to be missionaries “to the ends of the earth.”

MISSION AREAS
Service areas for the past years include the local communities where Canossian sisters are stationed (Luzon: Bulihan (Cavite), Tondo (Manila), Magallanes (Cavite), etc); Mindanao: Cagayan De Oro, Bukidnon). Other mission areas during the recent Meaningful Summers include those “where the needs are greatest” like Quezon Province: Infanta and Real; Ifugao: Kiangan and Hapao.
