Gumaca Pastoral Community

It was in the year 2012 that the then Bishop of Gumaca, Most Rev.  Buenaventura Famadico (presently the Bishop of the Diocese of San Pablo), invited the Canossian Sisters for their apostolic assistance in the ministries of Youth and Family & Life. Sometime later, two Sisters began their apostolic immersion in the Diocese during the weekends. After a year, encouraged by their positive experiences and the needs of the Diocese, an apostolic group of three Sisters was formed, attending to the two aforementioned ministries plus the services rendered in the Diocesan Formation Center.

It was on May 8, 2015, the ecclesial feast of the Institute, that a regular community was canonically set-up and the first community leader, Sr. Nancy Tagle, was installed.  The Mass was celebrated by the Diocesan administrator, Rev. Msgr. Jose Lagdameo and con-celebrated by the priests of the Diocese. Canossian Sisters from the different communities led by Sr. Glecy Manuyag, Provincial Leader, came to rejoice and celebrate this grace-filled and significant event.

In 2017, the Diocese asked for another service, administrator of a parochial school, Most Holy Rosary Parochial School in Lopez, Quezon.  Sr. Gina Mendoza was sent to be the Principal of this school. Presently, Sr. Magnolia Nuncio takes care of the Youth Ministry while Sr. Alberta Ramiso is in-charge of Family & Life Ministry.
