Education: forming the heart of the young, promoting the person’s integral growth

Canossian education has Christ Jesus, who is the revelation of the love of the Father as its centre, source and ultimate goal. It is offered within a structure, the Educative Community, which is an ecclesial expression and at the service of society.  Its aim is to promote the integral and harmonious development of the person through positive relationships so that he/she may grow in the knowledge and appreciation of self and of the present reality, and ultimately recognize God’s love for him/her and his/her mission in society. To achieve this aim it is essential to:

  • promote the growth of persons by appreciating their dignity and personal gifts
  • orient them towards self-knowledge and self-fulfillment and the discovery of self as a gift for others
  • foster a healthy self-evaluation through a correct interpretation of personal experiences of daily life
  • promote the assimilation of knowledge and the ability to develop it and to form a critical and responsible conscience.

Canossian schools are in the cities of Santa Rosa, San Pablo and  Calamba in Laguna, Lipa City in Batangas and a Pre-school in Cagayan de Oro City. Some sisters are teaching in other Catholic institutions namely, UST, San Isidro College in Malaybalay City and Sacred Heart Teachers College in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.

The Canossa Educational Assistance Program to poor and deserving students is another venue in the promotion of the human person by providing educational assistance, human and Christian formation, networking and promotional services so that they become self-reliant, socially responsible members of the family, Church and society.  All our communities are engaged in this scholarship program.
